New Year’s Eve party packages now more luxurious
Many consumers view watching the Times Square ball drop in person as invaluable, but local businesses are testing that theory with ticket prices soaring up to $12,500. Hotels and restaurants near One Times Square are offering exclusive New Year’s Eve party packages that include access to food, drinks, and live entertainment, as well as prime views of the iconic ball drop.
While the famous event is free for those watching from the streets below, some are opting for NYE party packages in Times Square to enjoy the festivities in a more comfortable manner.
For example, Olive Garden is offering tickets for $450, providing a buffet, open bar, live entertainment, and a complimentary toast. Meanwhile, Applebee’s has packages starting at $799, featuring a buffet with steak and salmon, live entertainment, and an open bar from 7 p.m. to midnight. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is offering an all-inclusive ticket for $1,015, which includes live entertainment and a full buffet.
The brand-new Knickerbocker Hotel is providing a swanky rooftop party just 150 feet from the Times Square Ball, with tickets ranging from $1,995 to $3,995. The party includes a cocktail event, dance floor with a DJ, and a banquet dinner featuring caviar, seafood, and roasted meats. The Marriott Marquis hotel is taking it to the next level with New Year’s Eve packages that span from $1,350 to $12,500. Their Prime VIP Couple’s Package guarantees seating next to floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Times Square Ball, along with a bottle of champagne, butler and coat check services, hors d’oeuvres, and access to an open bar and dinner buffet. The Prime VIP Couple’s Package has only one ticket remaining as of Wednesday afternoon.
